The Label

Luci La La is a roaming slow fashion label that began out of Edinburgh in 2024, creating thoughtfully designed, timeless and versatile garments to journey through life with. Each piece is made to order from locally sourced, high-quality deadstock textiles and created in very limited runs to avoid overproduction and encourage customers to make conscious buying choices.

Every garment is designed, pattern made and carefully constructed by myself, Lily. Follow Lucia La La on Instagram for updates on when and where ready to wear pieces are available.

Me.

All Luci La La products are currently made in my Zurich apartment, with a 1960’s PFAFF sewing machine that I set into a beautiful hardwood table I sourced secondhand. By dropping the machine into this table, a much smoother sewing process, with straighter stitches can be achieved and ensures fabrics will not warp during the construction process to bring you the highest quality products.

While in Scotland I worked with the most beautiful 1950’s Brother sewing machine to create samples for the Artichoke Flowers Collection. As expected of a 70 year old machine, it had many quirks, with bobbins needing to be hand wound and was far too heavy to bring with me on the train to Switzerland so is now in the care of Aleks at Shop With No Name in Edinburgh, where she is working on her own label. Aleks stocked a few of Luci’s ready to wear pieces during 2024 while I was living there.

Every sampled garment in Scotland was made from fabric remnants, sourced at local op-shops in Stockbridge. I got remarkably lucky, finding the Vintage Liberty Artichoke Linen from my first drop at one of these stores and sourced hardware and fabric for much of my first collection from a deadstock textile store in London, The New Craft House.
